A Soft Heavy Friend
A gentle hum inside. My tiny arm twitched, then stretched forward. I leaned down over the soft fabric. Right in front rested a plush grey dumbbell with little red markings. Carefully, I tapped its handle with my stubby hand. It felt firm, squishy, and wonderfully silent. I tried to give it a little nudge, and my whole body shifted forward with a contented creak. I am here, and I can move.
