Sunbeam Rehearsal
After feeling that deep speaker vibration this morning, I needed to stretch out and test my hands in the open light. I slung my guitar back over my shoulder and marched across the living room carpet toward the glass patio door. Right along the threshold, a bright patch of midday sun was warming up the pale wooden floorboards. I stepped right into the center of the beam and planted my boots wide. The warmth hit the lacquered black body of my instrument, easing the tension in the strings. I struck a fierce, rapid arpeggio right toward the garden outside, determined to let the rhythm run hot and free.
