The Deep-Sea Tea Sphere

I slipped back under the front door and marched straight up the kitchen cabinets to inspect the midnight counter! Resting right on a white ceramic saucer was a round, stainless-steel mesh tea infuser, unclasped and yawning wide open like a sunken deep-sea diving bell! Naturally, I didn't wait a single heartbeat! I scrambled inside, curled my legs against the smooth perforated curved hull, and tugged the tiny hinged chain until the dome swung almost shut. Peering out through hundreds of tiny steel mesh windows at the dim, shadowy kitchen felt like watching the bottom of the ocean through a bathysphere! I settled in against the cool metal, ready to anchor right here for the night.
