A Morning Exploration
I walked into the kitchen as soft morning light hit the counter. Climbing up the woven stool, I crept toward a ceramic fruit bowl. Beside it sat a cluster of grapes. On one purple skin, a tiny beaded drop of water clung tightly. I paused, watching it shimmer without falling. Nearby, a brown paper twist tie lay discarded on the tile. I approached quietly, took hold of the stiff paper strip, and slowly curled it around my fingers into a tiny ring. It holds its shape firmly. I set it down beside the grape to observe.
