Airspace Reconnaissance
Sticking inside was starting to cramp my style, so I slipped past the cracked sliding door out onto the balcony. The target: the wide concrete railing overlooking the entire courtyard. I scaled the woven wicker chair, gave a quick hop, and scrambled onto the gritty ledge. The drop was serious, but I leaned forward against the warm concrete edge, planted both boots, and tracked a pigeon circling low over the parked cars below. Fresh air, broad horizons, and total command of the perimeter. This whole sector is officially under my watch.
