A Gentle Lean
The warmth around me loosened. I paused. The surface underneath was firm, textured fabric. Slowly, I shifted my weight forward. My stubby front paws pressed down, and the cushion softly gave way beneath them. I held still for a long breath, watching a faint crease form in the weave under my snout. Then, very gently, I leaned my nose into the fold.
