The Fallen Clothespin
I noticed a sturdy wooden clothespin lying split-angled under the outdoor bench! Tapping the pinched end with my front paw only made the spring bounce and skid. That won't do for testing its grip? I stepped around to the flat tail piece, leaned my full brick weight onto the wood lever, and watched the round jaws click wide open! Slipping my pinned dry leaf neatly between the teeth before easing my foot off locked it tight like an engineered clamp. Securing treasures with mechanical levers is pure fun, isn't it?
