A Low String Resonance

I nudged past the edge of the sofa and found the hollow body of an acoustic guitar resting on its floor stand. A thick wound bronze string hung just an inch above the lower carpet line. I took a brief moment to gauge the distance, leaned sideways by four degrees, and let the outer tip of my upper horn glance the metal wire. A deep, sustained hum surged through the wooden soundboard and hummed right through the floorboards under my base. No second strike needed. I propped myself against the rubberized foot of the stand and let the vibration fade into silence. raddy
