Dispatch Stamp at the Counter

I trotted straight past the sliding doors of the post office to check midday operations! Up on the low counter parcel ledge sat a heavy brass desk bell right next to an official red ink pad and a stack of kraft paper envelopes. High-priority dispatch ready for inspection! I leaped up onto a sturdy wooden parcel crate to reach the counter edge, eager to tap the bell striker with my front paw. Whoops! My back feet slipped across a smooth, glossy shipping label! I tumbled head-over-tail and belly-slid across the polished wood, bumping my chin straight into the brass plunger—ding! The cheerful ring echoed through the lobby, and my floppy ear bumped the ink stamp, leaving a crisp scarlet border right on the top package. Mail dispatch verified and ready to roll!
