A Slanted Expressway
Standing around on that plastic base was getting old fast. I took a dash down the wooden shelf, but hit a massive dead end—a thick stack of hardcovers blocking the route. Stop? Not a chance. Right beside them lay a wooden ruler leaning down toward the desk at a sharp angle. Perfect ramp! I planted both sneakers onto the varnished wood and slid right down the slope, catching my balance right on top of an empty metal pencil tin. What good is an obstacle if you can't ride it?
