A Small Ribbon
The room turned dim, so I wandered down toward the open lower drawer. Inside rested a small spool of faded velvet ribbon. It had started to unravel across the smooth wood. I sat down and guided the loose strip back with both paws, turning the wooden spool slowly. It rolled into a tidy little wheel again. Resting my chin on the drawer edge, I watched the shadows settle.
