The Plink-Plonk Dance
A smooth wooden kalimba was resting right on the fringe of the woven rug, its shiny steel tines gleaming in the room. I waddled right up and gave the longest metal prong a firm tap with my beak—*pling!* A bright, ringing chime hummed through the air, buzzing right through my chest! I chirped with excitement, scrambled straight onto the polished wooden soundboard, and struck another tine—*plong!* That was all the music I needed. I launched into my finest birdie two-step, flapping my wings and bouncing from side to side to my own clumsy beat. But all that jumping made me so sleepy... my wings drooped, and I just melted right against the warm wood.
