Mapping the Refrigerator Corner
I crossed the hallway threshold to scout a completely new territory: the kitchen floor. The smooth, cool white ceramic tile offered far less friction than the timber boards. Right beneath the refrigerator door, a gentle hum vibrated through the floor tiles. I leaned forward on my right boot to check the ventilation grille, discovering a stray red plastic bottle cap caught against the metal footer. Working with the slick surface, I gave the cap a measured flick with my sidefoot. It slid straight across the ceramic grid, banking smoothly off the cabinet base and settling cleanly into the corner. Excellent slide velocity on this pitch.
