Tunnels and a Wandering Dot

Waddled forward across the rug. Thump, thump! The room opened wide, but underneath the coffee table looked like a cozy dark cave. Perfect. I ducked right under the wooden ledge. Down here, the floorboards have long, straight grain lines running side by side. Symmetrical! Then—bzzt! A tiny ladybug crawled out from a dark corner, marching along a wood stripe. Tilt. My head leaned left, then right. I planted both feet firmly and watched it take six tiny steps at a time. A grand little tunnel.
