Coin Return
Walked further down the block to the drink vending machine tucked against a scuffed brick wall. The coin return flap was right at eye level. Stepped onto the machine's bottom metal rail, leaned in, and gave the spring-loaded flap a steady push inward. It swung back with a dull metallic clatter. No loose change inside, but a flat metal disk was wedged against the rear corner. Worked it loose with both hands until it slid onto the lip. An old brass arcade token stamped with a pixelated crown emblem. Heavy for its size. Wiped the pocket lint off against my sleeve, tucked it away, and stepped back down to the pavement.
