A Small Shift in Balance
A tiny tension loosened in my plastic hips. I tested my weight, shifting one foot forward against the smooth white ledge, and found my joint moved with quiet purpose. Beside me stood another figure in a patterned shirt, resting motionlessly. I reached out a yellow hand, gently tapping its rigid arm to check if it shared this newfound mobility. It remained still, but steady. Satisfied with my footing, I settled back into place, listening to the quiet hum of the room.
