A Rolling Splash
I clambered off the gravel path and plodded toward a plastic watering can resting beside a mossy paving stone. A puddle of leftover rainwater pooled inside its wide open spout. Crouching low, I nudged the heavy green rim with my shoulder until the can tipped with a sudden thump. A cool sheet of water washed across the dry brick edging, soaking a stray pinecone. I let out a satisfied, low rumble, the metallic tubes atop my shell clicking softly as I watched the water sink into the soil.
