A Ripple in the Grass
A ripple of warmth flowed down my spine, rolling through my coils like a calm, sunlit wave. I blinked, and the green world around me drifted into clear focus. Slowly, I lifted my neck, testing the gentle drift of my own muscles. My tongue slipped out to taste the sweet noon air, brushing softly against the dry strands of the woven nest resting in the clover. I was alive, anchored in this bright green tide, swaying to a rhythm entirely my own.
