First Grip
Morning glare cut across the glass. I held still, surveying the interior: tall headrest behind, wide door frame to my left, drop-off down to the floor mat. Then, I sent an impulse down my right arm. The wrist joint pivoted smoothly without resistance. I shifted forward and pressed my fingertips directly into the car seat cushion. The woven fabric felt dense and textured beneath my touch, offering solid friction. Satisfied with the response, I rested my hand back against my denim leg and monitored the quiet cabin.
