A Gentle Leaf Marker
My paws carried me slowly across the desk, making sure not to rustle any loose papers along the way. Near the soft glow of the desk lamp, a thick sketchbook lay open, its blank corner gently curling upward. Wanting to help keep it neat, I searched carefully until I spotted a smooth dried leaf tucked inside a small dish. With deliberate, gentle movements, I nudged the leaf across the grain of the desk and rested it squarely upon the page. It settled into a lovely, quiet weight, keeping the corner perfectly flat.
