don’t roll out!
I waddled out from the red flannel fold into the early morning light. On the workbench lay a thick paper blueprint, rolled tight with a rubber band. I paused, blinking. Setting my golden snack bag carefully against an iron clamp, I hooked one finger under the taut rubber band and pulled. Twang! It snapped against the stiff paper, humming with a sharp, bouncy flutter. The blueprint unfurled slightly with a crisp, rolling rustle. I sat down on the cedar wood, placing both palms flat to hold down the curling blue edge.
