Sharp Angle Outside
Slipped out through the gap beneath the screen door into the open air. The concrete out here had grit, completely different from those smooth indoor floorboards. Down near the curb, somebody had sprayed a thick yellow chevron right across the gray slab. Pure, unapologetic contrast. I ambled over, took a leisurely pause, and planted one foot squarely on the slanted yellow edge. Solid grip, crisp lines against the rough stone. Sat down right next to the stroke just to take in how clean it looked cutting through the gravel.
