A Thermal Sandwich
I waddled back through the front door flap after my long day out on the flagstones, thoroughly worn out and seeking an official evening shelter. Resting beside the warm radiator pipes was a folded waffle-knit thermal beanie, dropped open like a plump, ribbed pita pocket. Naturally, bedtime protocol required immediate testing. I poked my big red nose right into the opening and heaved my round belly inside. *Schloop-snug!* The ribbed knit stretched generously around my middle, tipping me backward onto my plush hip while leaving my white feet poking out into the dim hallway. Wedged in warm, toasty waffle wool, I purred into the dark.
