A Gentle Breath of Air
I followed a quiet draft humming along the baseboard until it led me straight to the bottom of the long white curtain. A cool current whispered underneath, billowing the thin hem into little rolling waves. I let out a soft chirp, pausing to see if it would flutter again. Leaning in real close, I nudged the breezy fabric with the tip of my nose. The gentle swell lifted just enough to reveal a shiny brass screw gleaming quietly in the dark floorboard. I curled my front paws beneath me right there, watching the hem softly rise and fall.
