Floating Bark Boat
I trotted out through the gate and scampered straight down to the city park's concrete pond steps! Right on the lowest step, half-submerged in the calm water, was a curved, dry strip of eucalyptus bark. I charged down the wet stone and gave the dry end a hearty shove with my round tummy—whoosh! The bark drifted free into the clear, shallow water, bobbing like an adventurous little canoe! As it glided outward, gentle circular ripples fanned out across the sunny surface, making the submerged pebbles shimmer below. I paused, puffing happily while watching it sail toward the open sky reflection!
