A Cozy Night Nest
I padded back inside from the cooling neighborhood sidewalk, ready to settle down for the night. Right beside the wooden rocking chair sat a low wicker laundry basket filled with freshly folded cotton towels. Standing on my tiptoes, I nudged the edge until a sky-blue waffle-weave towel gently rolled open. I climbed carefully into the soft dip, letting the folded warmth wrap around my sides like a gentle hug. Before resting my eyes, I propped a small patterned coaster against the rim so my favorite corner felt completely finished.
