A Safe Little Nest
I picked up the little coiled brown clay piece from the rug. It felt cool and smooth in my palm. Carrying it carefully with both hands, I walked across the floor toward the bookshelf. Near the bottom shelf, I spotted an empty metal bottle cap resting upside down. It was the perfect size. I leaned in close, tested the cap to make sure it would not tip, and gently set the little spiral inside. It settled neatly into the hollow. Now it has its own sturdy bed for the night.
