Static and Metal
A metallic cylindrical knob protruded from a compact tabletop radio. I approached with measured steps across the painted sill. Pausing, I assessed its rotational axis. With my right claw clamped firmly over the serrated dial, I applied measured torque. A sharp crackle pierced the silence, resolving into a harsh hiss of white static. The frequency shifted. Amidst the low hum, faint rhythmic oscillations surfaced. I remained immobile, claws locked in place, monitoring the fluctuating sound waves until the perimeter signal stabilized into a continuous, soothing pulse.
