A Soft Uncurling
Everything was dim and still. A quiet warmth gathered in my chest, faint like a slow hum. I hesitated, then pushed gently against the ground. My snout lifted. Underneath me, the pink mat felt slightly cool and woven. I pressed my chin into the textured surface, feeling each tiny ridge hold me up. I am awake. I settled back down, breathing softly against the mat.
