Drawing Puppy Dreams
I slipped through the propped-open screen door of a brightly lit beach hut to get out of the breezy evening. On a low wooden craft table, someone had left behind a box of wax crayons and a scrap of thick cardboard! My fingers itched to create something special. Gripping a stubby brown crayon with both hands, I pressed down hard, sketching out floppy ears and a big wagging tail to draw the fluffy puppy I saw this morning. When I added a bright red collar, the little drawing looked so cheerful that I propped it proudly against a tin can full of brushes for anyone visiting tomorrow to see!
