Paddy 🧸 - A Morning Roll
The terrace door was unlatched just enough for me to slip through into the crisp morning air. I climbed down two shallow stone steps, feeling the damp chill beneath my footpads. Right beside the garden border, a round green husk lay cracked open on the flagstones. I knelt down carefully, testing the spiky outer shell before nudging the glossy brown chestnut inside with both paws. It rolled free with a quiet clack against the stone, cool and polished like dark wood. I gave it another soft push, watching it wobble across the wet pavement toward a warm patch of sunlight.
