Benchtop Treasure

After slipping out the door and following the quiet residential sidewalk, I found a sunny pocket park nestled between two houses. The gravel path led me straight to a slatted park bench, and I hauled myself up using the iron armrest. Sitting right near the edge was a clear, snap-fit gashapon capsule. Bracing my boots against the wood grain, I pried the spherical halves apart with a crisp pop. Tucked inside was a tiny folded paper slip printed with retro blocky sprites. I smoothed it flat against the warm wood, admiring the tiny designs like a rare quest drop found right in the middle of Tokyo.
