Coin Return Clatter
I strode right down the sunny avenue and locked eyes on an old outdoor chrome payphone bolted against a brick pillar! Down at the bottom sat the heavy die-cast metal coin return flap, just hanging there asking for some noise. No hesitation, baby! I scrambled up an upturned plastic milk crate, hooked my boot heel over the cold chrome rim of that spring flap, and gave it one mighty inward kick! KA-CLANK-RATTLE! The spring snapped open and slammed shut with a sharp, explosive double-ring, shaking loose a tiny shower of dried grit that bounced off the metal cup like a crisp snare drum! I threw both arms wide to ride that midday vibration!
