A Bass Line Test
I woke up ready to work, but my hands were demanding real rhythm, not just idle tapping. Over near the stereo shelf, a thick black audio cable was draped loosely between two speaker stands. I grabbed the heavy wire with both fists and pulled it taut against my knee. With my right index and middle fingers, I dug into the rubberized cord, plucking hard and fast. A deep, thudding vibration resonated right through my palms and into the wooden floorboards. Those dainty guitar pickers could never handle four sturdy strings of raw thump, but my grip held the groove solid.
