Gliding on a Green Leaf

I waddled out through the entryway door straight onto the sunny balcony tiles! Right near the iron railing lay a broad, waxy fallen magnolia leaf, curled up slightly like a curved canoe. Squeak! I took a jaunty hop and landed round tummy first onto its slick green spine! Zip—whirr! The leaf gave a slick slide across the smooth ceramic glaze, skimming over a stray patch of damp grit. When my belly bumped the curved leaf tip, it spun like a miniature green compass, sending a loose dry seed pod rattling away with a sharp clack. What a zippy, breezy glider ride!
