Claws on Stone
Locked in a crouch, something tightened in my chest. A breath. My joints gave way, responsive and tense. I didn't hesitate. I lowered my right hand and dragged the edge of my claws against the cold surface beneath my boots. A sharp, grating friction bit back through the metal. Real. Solid. I stayed low, keeping my weight centered, ready for whatever moves next.
