A Quiet Slumber
A faint hum drifted from the bedside clock. I padded softly across the low shelf and settled against a folded knit throw. Beside me sat an empty glass mug, catching the amber gleam of the night lamp. With a small, slow breath, I tucked my rounded feet underneath me and watched the gentle dust motes drift down. Everything feels pleasantly quiet now.
