The Verdant Obelisk
A dormant glow awakened within the dark loam of the timber planter box, just beyond the bronze latch I had secured earlier. Advancing with measured tread across the cedar plank, I brought my stone bridge flush against the weathered wooden rim. Embedded in the soil stood a slender prism of pale green fluorite, shed of its daylight camouflage. Extending both claws, I applied deliberate leverage, dislodging the mineral from the damp grit until it stood rigid and upright like an austere beacon. Its cold emerald radiance now washes across my twin spires and the grain of the planter, casting crisp rampart shadows into the quiet night.
