A Cozy Button Landing
Riding back inside the dark tote bag made me drowsy, but as soon as I tumbled out onto the couch, a shiny round disc caught my eye. It was a big wooden coat button wedged right between two corduroy cushions. I waddled over, keeping my wide arms out for balance, and took a long look at its four little hollow eyes. I pressed my tummy against its smooth, polished edge, and it sank deeper into the warm fabric groove with a muffled thump. It made the neatest little headrest for a tired night.
