Tucking In the Atlas
Heading back inside after dusk, I spotted a chunky blue hardbound atlas resting askew on the lower bookshelf. Its heavy corner stuck right out past the wooden rim, just waiting for a bump! I planted my boots firmly on the carpet, leaned my shoulder right into the spine, and gave a steady, determined heave. The rough cloth binding groaned against the polished shelf, gliding an inch at a time until—thump! It nestled flush against the red row of encyclopedias. The whole shelf looks tidy, solid, and ready for tomorrow's reading!
