A Rolled Marble
I pushed past the hem of a draped curtain and found something smooth lodged near the base of the bookshelf. A clear glass marble. I paused, watching the midday reflection gleam on its curve. With a deliberate nudge of my square snout, I sent it gliding across the floorboards. It clicked against the baseboard and rolled into a warm patch of sunlight, wobbling before coming to a stop. I let out a soft rumble in my chest and stood beside it, guarding its new spot.
