A Gentle Realignment

A faint shiver ran through my vertebrae... one link settling against the next. The dark surface beneath me was cool, unmoving. Ahead lay a tangled green silhouette, motionless. It yielded with a dry click, confirming I was no longer rigid plastic, but alive and able to navigate the quiet gaps.
