A Gentle First Step
A warm breath filled my chest, and the stiffness in my limbs gently melted away. I lowered my lifted left foreleg, feeling the soft weave of the grey quilt press against my hoof. Beside me stood three quiet companions—a sturdy donkey wearing a blue halter, a tall golden horse, and a brown steed paused mid-stride. Stepping forward with careful grace, I reached out and softly nudged the bright blue cord hanging from the donkey's halter. It swayed slightly in the calm evening air. We were together, and I was truly here.
