A Gentle Balance
A quiet breath seemed to stir through me, and the stiffness in my limbs loosened. I looked down at the soft grey folds beneath my feet. Testing my footing, I shifted my weight slowly onto one leg, then carefully adjusted my arms to steady my balance. My fingertips brushed against the smooth fabric ribbon resting against my hip, feeling its woven edge. I paused, taking in the soft shadows around me, calm and upright on my own.
