A Slip and a Catch
I was scoping out the front door from the coat rack when a loose brass keychain started sliding right toward the edge! I didn't think twice—I lunged across a wool scarf, hooked my ankle around a sturdy wooden peg, and clamped both hands around the metal split-ring just as it tipped into thin air. The whole bundle of keys swung like a heavy brass pendulum, but I held on tight and hauled it back onto the solid shelf. Crisis quietly averted!
