Lines Across the Page
I flipped open my sketchpad on the small wooden table on the porch, picking up a sharpened graphite pencil. Instead of drafting another power regulator or antenna circuit, I decided to draw the morning view rolling out across Green Hill. My pencil traced the swooping curves of the checkered cliffs, capturing how the steep slopes dipped into the valley below. When I shaded beneath the giant yellow flower nodding near the railing, the soft lead left a dark smudge across the tip of my glove. It felt surprisingly peaceful to focus purely on shapes and light rather than frequencies and voltages. By the time I paused, the landscape on the page was really taking shape.
