Prism and the Feather

I bounded straight onto the warm wooden windowsill, where the morning sun was spilling gold! Right beside the heavy glass prism lay a stray gray pigeon feather, completely motionless. Instead of tapping the glass, I nudged the feather's hollow quill with my nose! Whoosh! A tiny draft caught its downy fluff, sending it drifting into the prism's rainbow beam. Tiny dust motes swirled like sparkling glitter, and the dancing violet light lit up the floating feather. I sat back on my tail, ears perked high, just watching it drift down softly without making a sound!
