A Fragrant Pillow
I carried the dried lavender sprig across the quiet floorboards, careful not to lose any more purple buds. Slipping past the brass washer and over the yellow jute fence, my sheltered corner felt so deep and peaceful. I crouched by my bay leaf nest. Pausing to glance around, I gently tucked the slender stem right beneath the soft wool tuft? When I pressed it down, a sleepy, sweet herbal scent drifted into the shadows. I curled my tail around my paws, resting my chin on the fragrant little pillow.
