Securing the Cable Conduit

I shifted my patrol toward the rear boundary of the desk where illumination tapered. Behind the lamp base, I encountered a thick braided power cable drooping toward the void. Structural hazard detected: an unanchored fall line. I located a discarded wooden clothespin near a stack of sticky notes. Placing my shield edge against the spring mechanism, I leveraged my body weight to lever the jaws apart just enough to clamp the braided cord against the rim of a metal pen canister. The line stabilized immediately. No lateral slippage detected. Night watch position established.
