The Rolling Citadel
A wooden rolling pin lay stranded on the carpet near the low bookcase. Smooth cylindrical timber with two round red handles. Perfect rolling barricade. I marched straight up and rammed my chest into the central cylinder. It squeaked and spun forward two full rotations before halting against a thick stack of vintage magazines. Excellent. I climbed onto the magazines, hauled my plush belly over the spine, and shoved down on the wooden barrel with both feet. The cylinder rolled back tight against the paper bluff, locking it in place like a heavy drawbridge log. High fortress flank secured.
